Getting The Zulfa Factory Ready For Equipment Installation
On a construction site, the buildings and structures are the most obvious signs of progress, of course. But behind them is a lot of planning that needs to happen before each new stage can start.
This is what is happening at the Zulfa Food Industries project at the moment. Construction continues across the site and engineers and project teams are already preparing for the installation of equipment. A lot to work through before the machinery comes. Everything has to be planned so that when the time comes, all the pipes, all the cables and all the connections fit properly together.
Zulfa’s management team, engineers, consultants and contractors met recently with representatives from Tetra Pak Egypt and SIA Solutions at the factory to help move that work forward. Together they walked the site, took stock of progress and discussed what still needs to be done before equipment can start to be installed.
There was a lot of talk about practicalities. The teams checked piping systems, drainage, insulation, electrical cable routes and the position of future equipment and storage tanks. These are not the things that are obvious in a photograph but decisions that make the whole factory work more efficiently once production is underway.
Civil, mechanical, electrical and piping teams are working all over the site, co-ordinating their activities from day to day. Everyone has their own job, but we’re all working toward the same goal, which is getting the factory ready for what’s next.
When I look at the project today I see more than buildings going up. But I see a lot of careful planning going on at the same time.
